I absolutely adore these old Grey Poupon mustard pots from France! The graphics are so pretty and look great displayed on a shelf with other ironstone.
This jar is one of the oldest ones I’ve had for sale. The banner on the front is missing, thus dating it before 1889. The back also does not have the large emblem but instead has type set at an angle that translates to “demand the seal.”
The pot is overall in good shape but does have some browned flea bits along the neck and lip but no chips or cracks (see photos).
Has the harder-to-find C&M (Creil et Montereau) mark on the bottom as well as a blind stamp.
