If you love the French Nordic style, you’ve probably spotted these old drain plates in Jeanne d’Arc Living magazine – they’re often displayed in plate racks along with cutting/onion boards and other white ironstone or dishes.
These were originally part of a serving dish where they were used to drain the water or juices from vegetables, meat or fish. They now make great decorative pieces or you can use them as trivets in your kitchen or dining room.
This listing is for the one (1) drain plate shown in the photos. It’s a fairly uncommon rectangular shape with gorgeous crazing and slight browning that happened over its many years of service. There’s a faint embossed wave pattern around the border, best seen when you tilt it slightly towards the light.
It’s in good condition for its age, without cracks and just a couple small chips on the underside. If you like browned and crazed dishes, you’ll love this drain plate!
