If you love the French Nordic style and read Jeanne d’Arc Living magazine, I’m sure you’ve seen these old ceramic and porcelain cutting boards that are so popular and somewhat hard to find. I try to snap them up whenever they cross my path in Europe.
These are sometimes called onion boards but folks in Germany used them as breakfast or dinner plates for sandwiches. They look great displayed with wood cutting boards or ceramic drain plates and as a bonus are fully functional as a cheese board or cutting board!
This listing is for one (1) very heavy porcelain cutting board in the Saksisch or Copenhagen pattern. I have six of these same boards – they’re all very similar so please let me select one for you.
These boards are in great condition with no chips or cracks, just some slight browning and inconsistencies in the glaze in a few places – please see photos for details. The same design has been hand painted on all of them and only the front and sides are glazed, leaving the back unglazed.
There is no maker’s mark.
