If you love the French Nordic style and read Jeanne d’Arc Living magazine, I’m sure you’ve seen these old ceramic and porcelain cutting boards that are so popular and somewhat hard to find. I try to snap them up whenever they cross my path in Europe.
These are sometimes called onion boards but folks in Germany used them as breakfast or dinner plates for sandwiches. They look great displayed with wood cutting boards or ceramic drain plates and as a bonus are fully functional as a cheese board or cutting board!
This listing is for one (1) porcelain cutting board in the Meissen or Blue Onion pattern. I have two of these same boards – they’re very similar so please let me select one for you.
These two boards are in great condition with no chips or cracks, just some teeny tiny flea bites here and there along with some slight browning in places – please see photos for details. The blue design has ‘bled’ and now provides a light blue halo around all the original dark blue pattern.
There is no maker’s mark.
