This particular piece came from France. It’s a 2nd place prize award from 1956 of a horse show in the region of Nievre in the center of the country. The prize category is for two-year-old fillies.
The background of the plaque was originally red but over time has nearly completely faded away to reveal the grey metal. The typography still has bits of gold. There is a hook at the top for hanging although one side has broken away from its original location and it now has been bent to the opposite side (see photos).
