bottle top (France)
These old porcelain tops were once part of the old iconic green glass canning jars. While the bottles may be long gone, the graphic appeal of these tops is what must have caused previous owners to hang onto them, rather than toss them out along with the glass shards.
Made by the brand L'Idéale, these tops are made of thick, durable porcelain. They're sold separately, one still with its original metal closure mechanism. Each has signs of age: A (left) has a chip on the top rim and on the bottom along with stains while B (right) has no chips or stains but does have remnants of an old orange rubber seal along the side.
Each can be hung by a string through its holes or simply displayed as part of a vignette.
SIZE: 2.75" long x 2" wide x 1.25" thick (excludes metal on B)

candy tin
I'm a graphic designer so naturally I love packaging, even when the graphics are a bit worn like on this old candy tin from France. I love the lettering, the illustration of the woman and the two crests on either side - not to mention the aged patina!
The lid has a small tear in one corner and a dent/ripple on one side (see photos) but it still comes on and off with ease, making this tin perfect to store bits and bobs, maybe use it as a pen/pencil case or fill it with candy, as originally intended.
SIZE: 6.75" long x 3.25" wide x 1.375" tall

French moutarde pot (no. 3)
I absolutely adore these old Grey Poupon mustard pots from France! The graphics are so pretty and look great displayed on a shelf with other ironstone.
This jar is in great shape with no cracks and just a tiniest of flea bits on the neck. Has the Digoin & Sarreguemines mark on the bottom as well as a blind stamp.
SIZE: 3.75" tall x 2.5" diameter at base

Box of French wax sticks
This package of old wax sticks has the most beautiful graphics! It's small and has a couple of torn corners but it's still so charming! It still holds a faint scent of perfume, as promised on the lid of the box. Pretty to simply display or use the green sticks of wax to create seals (one stick has been previously used - see photos).

Keiller Dundee marmalade pot (no. 4)
As a self-proclaimed type geek, I absolutely adore these antique marmalade pots by James Keiller & Sons. The graphics are just beautiful!
Dug up from the ground near a river in the UK, these pots date back to the 1880s and are a fun, squatty shape compared to the taller, skinnier and younger versions you might find here in the US.
All of them come with some signs of age, including craquelure in the glaze, staining, various cracks or chips.
This listing is for one (1) pot as shown in the detail photos. Please look closely at the photos to make sure you're aware of the condition issues that are part of the charm of these pots that have survived for 130 years.

English Anchovy Paste Pot (no. 2)
If you collect white ironstone with graphics, then an old English anchovy paste pot simply is a must-have!
This pot lid and base dates back to the late 1800s. There are some chips along the rim of the baseand a small chip on top of the lid (see photos). The lid also doesn't fit quite snugly on the base and is a little tilted (see photo) – likely not the original lid & base combo (this was found by a fellow in England who digs up objects in former trash heaps). The graphics show the beautiful lion & unicorn crest and read: Burgess's Genuine Anchovy Paste for Toast Biscuits &c, The Original Fish Sauce Warehouse, 107 Strand corner of the Savoy steps London

French candy tin
This old candy tin from France has it all: charming graphics (including a fleur de lis!), pretty gilded typography and patina galore. Plus it's a pretty faded pink color!
It's a nice size, small enough to tuck into a display or shelf but large enough to notice. The lid slips on and off easily so you can use it store bits 'n' bobs, adding funtionality to its many lovely traits.
The lid reads "Confiserie Lilloise" and "P'tits Quinquins" (a type of fruity candy still made today; as a matter of fact, the tin design hasn't changed much, although this is one here is a true oldie, not a modern-day version)
