French brass floral (no. 4)
I picked up a number of antique French brass floral finials on my last trip to Europe.
This particular one is the largest of the bunch with a lovely dulled and spotted patina that still lets a lots of brass shine through.
It is made of thin embossed brass depicting flowers and curved leaves. The back has a metal hook where the rod would be inserted. In as-found condition (no cleaning has been done).
SIZE: approx. 7.5" long x 5" wide

wax seal “EP” (France)
As a graphic designer, I gravitate towards typography so naturally, I love these old wax seals with initials. Not only are they beautiful, they make some really pretty imprints and are fun to get creative with (my sample wax imprints were marred by black char from the candle wick).
This wood handled seal carries the initials EP in an ornate font surrounded by a thin border. It’s still fully functional so it would make a wonderful gift to the Edward Price or Emily Prescott in your life.
SIZE: imprint measures 0.625″ wide x 0.5″ tall, overall 3″ tall with handle

French brass floral (no. 5)
I picked up a number of antique French brass floral finials on my last trip to Europe.
It's quite hard to find a matched pair so I'm selling these two as a set. One is a bit shinier than the other with some blackened spots of tarnish. Both are still a fairly bright golden brass color that's matte in finish with some darkened areas here and there.
They're mirror images and made of thin embossed brass depicting flowers and curved leaves. The back has a metal hook where the rod would be inserted. In as-found condition (no cleaning has been done).
SIZE: each is approx. 6.75" long x 5" wide

antique name stamp (France)
It's no secret that as a graphic designer, I absolutely love items with letters and numbers so naturally, antique rubber stamps are part of that passion.
This wood-handled stamp imprints the name Alexandre Montserrat. The little brass floret is a marker for your thumb – if that's how you hold it, the name will be stamped correctly (as opposed to upside down).
The rubber at the end of the name is a bit damaged so it does not imprint as well (see photos).
SIZE: 2.25" tall, name measures 1.75" long

monogrammed napkin (France)
These extra large monogrammed napkins are wonderful to use as originally intended but I prefer to use them as tea towels in the kitchen or, better yet, sew them into throw pillows.
Sold individually, each of these napkins are made of white cotton and hand embroidered with red thread. Two have the completed initials ER while two are incomplete and only have the letter R slightly off center, leaving room for the letter E – wonder what happened, why she never finished?
They have been soaked in Oxiclean, washed and ironed, ready for use. Please use the drop down menu to select initials ER or R.
SIZE: 25.5" wide x 29.25" – embroidered letters measure 2" tall

bottle top (France)
These old porcelain tops were once part of the old iconic green glass canning jars. While the bottles may be long gone, the graphic appeal of these tops is what must have caused previous owners to hang onto them, rather than toss them out along with the glass shards.
Made by the brand L'Idéale, these tops are made of thick, durable porcelain. They're sold separately, one still with its original metal closure mechanism. Each has signs of age: A (left) has a chip on the top rim and on the bottom along with stains while B (right) has no chips or stains but does have remnants of an old orange rubber seal along the side.
Each can be hung by a string through its holes or simply displayed as part of a vignette.
SIZE: 2.75" long x 2" wide x 1.25" thick (excludes metal on B)

French laundry pot
This old ceramic SABLE (sand) pot would originally have been part of a set of three and sat in a wall-hanging laundry rack. These are more commonly made of enamelware so finding an ironstone/ceramic version is quite unusual.
Showing signs of age, this pot is still in good condition, without cracks or chips – just some flea bites along the base, consistent with normal use. The lettering is slightly fuzzy but part of manufacturing. Overall there is a lovely slight crackle to the glaze. No maker's mark on the bottom, although there is a mark of some sort, possibly made with a permanent marker.
SIZE: 4.5" diameter at rim, 3.875" tall

PARIS stoneware ink bottle
This little stoneware ink bottle came from France. As though that wasn't enough, there is a great stamp on the base, making it almost worth it to display the bottle on its side: 500, Mercure, Bourdon Frères, PARIS (don't you just love it when things are marked PARIS?)
The beige color is marred by two rust spots (see photos) and overall the glaze has a lovely crazed finish. The bottom is unglazed.
