I love ephemera, especially when it's French and has pretty typography like this old receipt book! Not only does this old receipt book have fabulous lettering, it's also quite large. It has a blue green soft cover with black binding tape that's coming loose on the back but pages have been stapled together so it's in no danger of falling apart and can easily be glued back on. The writing on the receipt stubs on the left date from 1956 through 1959. There are 18 blank receipts still left in the book that you can use for crafting or display. As a graphic designer by trade, I appreciate good typography and this scrap book is filled with fun examples of old company letterheads and labels. Found in France, this scrapbook was created on a 1948 weekly calendar from Budapest. The front and back pages are filled with French etiquettes and labels from old haberdashery stores and suppliers of ribbons, fabric, clothing, hats, etc. Most of the businesses have addresses in Paris – how cool! There are 32 pages (double-sided, so 16 pieces of paper) filled with labels – these would be wonderful for scrapbooking or to frame as a collage. There are lots of blank weekly calendar pages so you could add to it or use it as an altered book project, too. There is no front cover and the back cover has a built-in easel back. SIZE: Page: 5" x 7" Cover: 6.5" x 7.875" FREE SHIPPING within the US. For international shipping, additional charges apply. I was first drawn to the tiny little label on this old hardcover note book. I didn't connect the meaning of "Scheik." on the label until I leafed through some of the hand-written pages and discovered it was all in Dutch. Despite having flunked out of chemistry in high school, I spotted some formulas that made me realize "Scheik." was short for "Scheikunde" or chemistry in Dutch. Most of the pages are filled with fountain pen script writing with a few formulas mixed in as well as a few blank lined pages. The note book is in great condition, still solidly bound with just some staining due to age and storage on the fly pages. The edges of the cover are a bit scuffed, especially on the back, but it would make a lovely addition to a book shelf in the study or use it for your next altered book project. This collection of handwritten letters is absolutely stunning! Found in the south of France, each sheet is written in a gorgeous script and bears a very ornate notary stamp. These date back to the 1750s so the ink has the nice uneven thickness that comes from writing with a nib pen. The paper is handmade with a deckle edge on two sides (the other two sides were cut). A letter would look lovely mounted in a shadow box or displayed inside a cloche with a collection of other cherished objects. This listing is for one (1) sheet of paper chosen at random from the collection. All are very similar in look with some more faint and most strong as shown in the photos.
