Monticello Spring Show
After months of sourcing inventory, days of prepping my display, and hours of fluffing & tweaking, my booth was finally ready when the doors to Monticello Antique Marketplace‘s Spring Show opened at 8am sharp yesterday!
You could feel the excitement as the crowds (who had formed a line at the front door well before opening time) swarmed into the showroom through four different entries. Many made a beeline to their favorite vendors and mere minutes into the show, I was helping customers and carrying treasures to the hold areas.
Now that I’ve exhibited in shows for several years, I’ve come to know some of the regular customers and really enjoy chatting with them. Some drove for hours to get here at 8am – now that’s dedication!
Even though I had made the rounds the day before to take the photos that I’m sharing with you here, I’m always amazed at how many great things I DON’T see till I spot them in the hold/sold area. Darn it, gotta be more thorough!
There is so much goodness, it’s hard to take it all in! That’s why customers spend hours here, first shopping the show, then shopping the mall, and then back through the show again to see if they missed anything. Remember, you’ve got to look up and down, too – not just eye-level!
Besides sharing photos of my own booth, I thought it’ be fun to show you some of the other fabulous vendors – especially for all the out-of-towners, just in case you’re on the fence as to whether it’s worth the drive to Portland 😉
The gals at Worthy Goods always bring lots of unusual items, like this amazing day bed – I was drooling! European pine piled high with grain sack and linen pillows and feather beds:
Randy with Madison Park never fails to impress with his special finds. How amazing is this huge wooden carnival horse, chipped to perfection:
I love the neutral palette that Kat and JoDee with Duchess are known for. That super-long apothecary cabinet? Divine!
Glo with Farm French brings a fun mix of fancy sweet and industrial farm that just works perfectly together:
If you like blue & white, Kari with Manor Bourne has you covered – along with many other wonderful transferware and chic home decor:
Mindy with Moss always brings lots and lots of greenery along with fabulous garden ornaments. She graciously supplied all the greenery you see in my booth – plants just make a room come alive:
And don’t forget to look up! All kinds of treasures await you up high:
So how am I able to resist being around all these amazing treasures? I’m not! I spied this cabinet as it was being moved in last week and have been lusting after it ever since. So today I bought it! Won’t be bringing it home till next week but I already know exactly where I’ll put it 😉
I hope you’ve enjoyed this little virtual tour – although naturally, it’s MUCH better in person so if you’re in the area, be sure to stop by! Show lasts till early June and vendors will be constantly restocking (I’m heading over first thing in the morning to clear out the chippy white kitchen hutch that sold within the first half hour of the show!)
Groetjes,
Alex
